6th grade presents: Passion of Christ

that sounds the same all right that's better all right so anyways uh most of you guys know how this goes so you know everybody in here you know we've got our jesuses and our Marys and our guards and our backstage Crews and our lights and our musical people and you know probably flashing back to when this happened so you know the story is pretty similar uh you know is not like we can change it every year so people are like you know you ever think about doing something different uh you can't uh it's kind of written already so but we do try to uh you know change the performance a little bit so and we do add the old 15th station which doesn't exist but we didn't want it to end at the tomb we thought it would be you know going into Easter season we always want to have a you know the happy ending at the end of this with the resurrection so that's actually not a station but you know we put it in there because we want to bring that the joy so but without further Ado I'm going to let these lovely ladies take over as a narrators and we're going to get going so when you guys are just about ready good afternoon faculty students and Friends we the sixth grade are happy to reenact the way of the Cross as part of our Easter preparation it is our hope that you will also benefit from our reenactment we ask that everyone please remain quiet turn off yourself fun so that the special effects can be heard and appreciated thank you for your cooperation we hope you will enjoy our presentation pilot had ordered Jesus to be wept the officer in charge was a Syrian Soldier among those whipping Jesus the soldiers put their heart into their work finally Jesus's head was pressed up against the column when the officer called The Whipping to a halt enough he said put his clothes back on but he said he was a king a century and protested the king of the Jews surely we ought to clothe him as benefits his rank the Centurion laughed and pulling a purple cloak from the narrow Soldier he draped about Jesus another Soldier catching the spirit of the game disappeared for a moment and return turned carrying a branch with long piercing thorns he twisted the branch into the shape of a crown which he based on Jesus's head pressing it down causing Jesus's head to bleed advised that the whipping was over pilot was about to leave a voice detained him Excellency a soldier said I find it hard to understand why you resist Prosecuting this man anyone who claims to be a king is Shirley speaking treason against Caesar if you let him go will it not be said that you are no longer a friend of Caesar himself pilot paused and anger Jesus was pushed roughly forward barely able to stand pilot flinched slightly at Jesus's appearance blood was on his forehead where the crown of thorns had pierced his skin the purple cloak the little to hide the terrible cuts and gashes on his body what evil has he done pilate questioned he is the false prophet someone said he said he was equal to God crucify him pilate spoke Jesus in a low voice who are you why don't you defend yourself surely you realize that I have the power to crucify or release you Jesus answered you would have no power over me if it had not been given to you from our father in Heaven the first station Jesus is condemned to death we have 2 for Lucifer not long after Jesus's trial the soldiers forced him to carry a heavy wooden cross Jesus began his long and painful journey to Calvary where he knew he would be crucified the second station Jesus is made to carry his cross Jesus was tired and weary from being whipped and beaten by the Roman soldiers because of the intense pain and the heavy weight of the wooden cross Jesus stumbled and fell the third station Jesus Falls for the first time Jesus was tired and staggering up the hill to Calvary when he was met by Weeping Woman the woman was married his mother she looked painfully into Jesus's eyes and asked my son what have they done to you the fourth station Jesus meets his mother Jesus could barely manage the weight of the heavy cross the soldiers did not want him to collapse along the way to Calvary so they pulled a man out of the crowd to help Jesus carry the cross the fifth station Simon hopes Jesus carry his cross the sun scorched down from the sky like a ball of fire making the day intensely hot Jesus's face was Dripping with blood and sweat Veronica a woman in the crowd slowly stepped out and wiped his face The Sixth Station Veronica wipes the face of Jesus completely exhausted Jesus fell beneath the weight of the heavy cross a second time the soldiers shed Jesus no mercy they whipped him until he stood up and continued on his weary Journey the seventh station Jesus falls for the second time the woman on Islam sadly awaited Jesus they could hardly bear the awful sight of him as he passed by Jesus told the women not to weep for him but weep for their children the eighth station the woman of Jerusalem mourned for Jesus Jesus stumbled onward he again collapsed under the awesome way of his cross on his shoulders again he was shown no mercy he was whipped and cursed until he managed to get up the ninth station Jesus Falls the third time finally exhausted and weary Jesus reached Calvary the Roman soldiers made fun of him there and stripped him of his garments the 10th station Jesus is stripped of his garments as a soldier's laid Jesus on the cross he knew his life here on Earth would soon be over the soldiers then nailed Jesus to the cross even though the large nails were driven through his tender hands Jesus held back the the excruciating pain and cried out to the father Jesus begged forgiveness for the soldiers for they do not know what they had truly done the 11th station Jesus is nailed to the cross looking towards the heavens Jesus's face filled with pain suddenly became calm father he said and to thy hands I I commit my spirit suddenly his head fell forward Jesus was dead the 12th station Jesus dies on the cross the sun was disappearing behind a heavy cloud the wind was increasing strength there was a distant sound of thunder Mary Jesus's mother Mary Magdalene and John weighted weirdly at the foot of the cross for the soldiers to remove Jesus's body from the cross so they could prepare him for burial the 13th station Jesus is taken from the cross Jesus's body was placed in a already prepared for him pilate ordered a large Boulder to be placed in front of the Tomb pilot was afraid that Jesus's friends would steal the body and hide it away saying that Jesus had risen from the dead pilot also ordered the soldiers to carefully guard the tomb making it impossible for anyone to enter or leave the tomb the 14th station Jesus is laid in the Tomb it was the morning following the Sabbath Roman guards were posted around the boulder outside the tomb where the body of Jesus having laid to rest the high guards were keeping watch of the tomb's entrance noting unusual had happened during the night then with the dawn a Sunday breading the soldiers were startled at the site of Mary Magdalene Martha and Mary they were walking towards the tomb the guards ordered them to stop and asked what they wanted Mary explained that they had come to anoint Jesus's his body the gods were some sympathetic and they ordered them to wait until the stone could be moved meanwhile the Morning Light grew brighter only now did The Woman become aware of 2 young men working in a garden on the hillside near the path leading to the tomb 1 addressed a woman cheerfully why do you seek the living among the dead Jesus is risen he is not here the 15th station the resurrection thank you all for coming I just want to give a thanks to Mrs Nicole Snyder and Mr MC and everyone else who helped and have a happy
