It was a "superhero" kind of week as DuBois Central Catholic students celebrated what separates their school from all the rest - a Catholic education. This year's theme was "We are God's Superheroes at God's Superschool", celebrating the talents and gifts that are unique to each student in elementary to high school.
Each year, we celebrate CSW to remind students and the community of the value and opportunity Catholic education provides. A Catholic education prepares students not only for academic success, but choices and challenges faced in later life. It offers teachings of community service, sound judgement and critical thinking that empower students to seek fulfilled and happy futures, however they choose to define them.
Individual talents were embraced by students during CSW in numerous ways - "Be Yourself" locker decorating, "Jam Sessions", and reverent prayer, just to name a few. Since the focus was to showcase God-given talents this year, DuBois Central Catholic School held its first ever Elementary Talent Show, "Our Talents are Our Superpowers," giving elementary students an opportunity to shine on stage. The show was a great success, with students displaying a wide variety of impressive talents to an auditorium packed with family and friends. Led by the school's elementary teacher, Mrs. Julie Smith, the event featured twenty-four acts performed by students in grades 2-5. Musical pieces ranging from Beethoven to pop were played by violin, piano and voice. A number of performers showed their impressive dance and choreography skills with ribbon dancing, hula hoop and ballet. Magic tricks, comedy, and other diverse acts provided an entertaining evening.
The enthusiasm shown in the 2025 CSW photograph highlights says it all. We can't wait for next year!
