DuBois Central Catholic School welcomed the family members of our students who have served in the US Armed Forces to our school on Friday, November 8th. Student Ambassadors greeted the veterans as they arrived at the school for breakfast with their students. After the high school choir opened the morning with a rendition of the National Anthem, a patriotic musical program was performed by students in k-5th grade.
An all-school Mass followed. After the Color Guard presented the flag, Father Daghir offered a blessing to all veterans present. "Your willingness to sacrifice embodies Catholic teaching. Through sacrifice, we are purified as members of God's kingdom." The Scouts presented the veterans with flowers to thank and acknowledge them for their service. After Mass, the Color Guard performed a gun salute and the school's new US flag was raised.
