Students For Life of America. It's more than just a mission. It's saving lives!

DCC's "Students For Life of America" is off to a busy year planning new activities centered around respecting life, protecting the unborn, and upholding human dignity.  As Catholics around the country celebrate life during the month of October, Students For Life are finding new ways to evangelize around school for an impactful reach.

Ideas slated for the 2024-2025 academic year include:  attending the "March For Life" at the National Mall, Washington, DC; supplying pro-life prayers used during daily school announcements; designing t-shirts to donate proceeds to a local pro-life cause; and researching/educating themselves on the facts about pro-life and respect for life issues.

To further their education related to debatable issues surrounding the pro-life cause, students will have the opportunity to attend a virtual presentation followed by a Q&A session offered by Julia Sadik.  Sadik serves as the Pennsylvania Regional Coordinator for "Students For Life of America" and will be addressing the DCC chapter on pro-life initiatives during next week's meeting.  You can read more about Julia's pro-life journey by visiting Julia Sadik's Pro-Life Bio

Today's meeting, however, focused on the negative effects of euphemisms being used when discussing the unpleasantries associated with abortion and the lack of respect for life.  It was discussed by students that euphemisms used to mask right-to-life issues as women's healthcare issues can be both misleading and detrimental to how the pro-life cause is perceived.  In comparison, Students For Life stand for the truth with the mission of clearly discussing what pro-life means.

DCC's Students For Life organized last year in 2023 and is now in their second year of the chapter for high school students.  Students meet weekly on Wednesday in an effort to make a difference in the world and implement positive change at school and in their community.  The chapter is lead into its second year by volunteer Mr. Patrick (PJ) Piccirillo.
