DuBois Central Catholic School held its 2023 Homecoming crowning ceremony where seniors Mathue Volpe and Lauren Davidson were announced as king and queen.
Lauren Davidson, daughter of James and Jana Davidson of Clearfield, is a competitive sport player for DuBois Central Catholic basketball and softball, in addition to being on the team for DuBois Xtreme 180 Softball. Davidson will study nursing while playing softball, as she is considering softball contracts from several post-secondary institutions. Davidson is an active member of the Cardinal Ambassador and Rotary Interact programs.
Mathue Volpe, son of Jenna Volpe of DuBois, anticipates attending Gannon University to study pre-law, and will continue to focus on his philanthropy work. Volpe has been involved with community service projects as an acting Eagle Scout, the highest rank achieved under the Boy Scouts of America, and has independently organized donation collections for the Hahne Cancer Center of DuBois. Volpe serves as National Honor Society president, Student Council vice president, and Cardinal Ambassador member.
Performing the crowning ceremonies were DuBois Central Catholic Alumni, Faith Jacob and Michelangelo Piccirillo, both of whom are attending their freshman year at St. Francis University. Jacob is studying to become a physician assistant, while Piccirillo is focusing his efforts on an engineering degree.
